Here’s a professional and well made gimmick that can make a freely selected card rise and float above the deck about an inch. The floating card is entirely under your control and the spectator can hold the deck as the levitation occurs. The card is freely selected and may be examined before and after.
I’ve encountered various methods for this effect and this is the cleanest and most effective that I’ve seen.
Getting a Rise
As the ads state, the effect is completely self-contained and nothing is added or taken away. Reset is immediate and the trick and can be performed right away with another card. As long as spectators are looking down onto the deck, you can perform this one surrounded.
Spectators may keep the levitated card as a souvenir. You can also use the trick with certain modifications to levitate dollar bills, photographs and more.
Lift Off
The gimmick is well made and sturdy and comes with a 12-month warranty. There is some work that involves cutting and taping to incorporate the device into a deck of cards. In the end, the gimmick is well camouflaged and the deck appears normal.
The accompanying book is thorough and well written and illustrated to tell you about the history of the effect and how to build the gimmick and perform the trick. To perform the effect, you will need one more gimmick that you may already own, or that you can purchase separately, which will set you back about $35.
This is a great product. If you would like to cause a playing card to briefly hover an inch above the deck, it’s worth looking at this one.
