This fifth part of my card project (each volume is, in any case, totally independent of the others) includes 3 new original A.C.A.A.N. effects requiring no sleight of hands:
- Multiverse ACAAN (Parallel Universes in a deck of cards!)
- Royal AKAAN (the King of “Card at Number”!)
- IMPROMPTU Lucky ACAAN (Card at Lucky Number, with a borrowed and shuffled deck!)
It’s a new series of hands-off self-working card magic effects, that will all happen in your viewer’s hands. No particular skill is required, just the ability to instruct and pay attention to what the viewer is doing… In this third eBook you will find a colour Pdf that will allow you to perform amazing automatic “Any Card At Any Number” Effects.
These are the simple rules that all my effects obey in this project:
- The deck in use could be stacked or gimmicked, but anyway it must be possible to show it to the audience (and in case, to be quickly examined by a spectator).
- Once the cards have been (falsely) shuffled, the deck is given to a spectator and the performer will no longer touch it until the effect ends.
- The performer will simply provide all the instructions that the spectator will follow and the effect will happen in his own hands.
- Viewers will truly believe they have complete freedom in choosing both the number and the card.
Included in Volume 5 are three of my new unreleased effects, the last of which requires no preparation whatsoever (it is completely impromptu with a borrowed deck shuffled):
Multiverse A.C.A.A.N.
A deck of cards, first shown and then shuffled by the illusionist, is given to the spectator who begins to deal the cards on the table, keeping them face down, and stopping when he wants: he turns that card and cuts the rest of the deck into several parts, to end up recomposing it.
After having explained that there are, for each card in the deck, 3 other similar cards that we could think of as belonging to parallel universes and distinguishable only by the various suits, he will consider the value of the chosen card but the objective will now be to find the one belonging to the multiverse determined by the suit of the card that ended up next to it as the result of cutting the deck: i.e., a new card will be determined having the same value, from Ace to King, and the suit of the one with which it came face to face.
Of that card, obviously, nothing will be known about the position it could occupy in the various multiverse represented by the deck of cards, but here Magic will interfere! Adding up the two values of the cards, the spectator will get a random number and, incredibly, just counting the cards, from the top of the deck to the card that is in that position, he will find the announced card.
Royal A.K.A.A.N. (Any King At Any Number)
A spectator is invited to choose, going progressively by elimination, a value from the Ace to the King; then the magician, after having shown a normal deck of 52 cards and having shuffled it, asks him to cut and complete, then to raise it in any point and to take note of the suit of the card that is in that precise point, in order to randomly determine a new card, made by the chosen value and that suit.
But also the value of the card where he cut the deck will have a determining weight, in addition to its suit: in fact the spectator will be able to verify shortly thereafter that, while going to count that precise number of cards for the other 3 suits he would have found any random card, finally counting one last time the card at that number he will find himself magically turning over just the card he chose.
IMPROMPTU Lucky A.C.A.A.N.
This is a totally impromptu ACAAN! The magician gives a deck of cards to be shuffled to the spectator and after having quickly verified with the audience how, as a result of the shuffling, completely random sequences of colors, suits and card values are found in the deck, he gives it back to the spectator who will have to take from the top a small bunch, let’s say less than a dozen cards. He will secretly count the exact number and memorize it, then he will cut the rest of the deck into three packs and from the central one he will choose a card that will be lost in the first pack, all the other cards will be shuffled together and the deck will be cut and completed by the spectator himself.
Only at that point, the conjurer will reveal that he has a lucky card of his own and ask him to search for it in the deck, holding the cards face up, while he will add that he also has a lucky number for himself: 13. Once he has found the card, he will continue to count exactly 13 other cards, but without finding the chosen card! The illusionist, without losing heart, will prove that to be a REVEALING card and will remind the spectator to have both a card and a favourite number.
Starting from that key card and recounting to the viewer’s number, the card will be magically found.
