Here’s a quick list of the 9 effects in Cunning Stunts:
(effect descriptions taken directly from the notes)
1. Writer’s Cramp
– Effect: Performer displays an ordinary pen at his fingertips. SLOWLY the pen VISIBLY bends to a 90-degre angle. Pen is immediately handed out for examination.
2. EZ Triumph
– Effect: A card is selected from a face down deck. Card is noted by spectator. This same card is returned face down to the middle of the face down deck. Deck is placed on close-up mat. Entire deck is turned face up, face down, face up, and once again face down. The spectator is asked to name their selected card. Deck is ribbon spread face down. One card is face up in the middle of the deck. IT IS THE SELECTED CARD!
3. The Force
– A card force that will actually fool magicians! This is so unbelievably simple to execute, yet impossible to detect. This one force will replace whatever force you are currently using!
4. Business Minded
– Effect: A great way to hand out your business card! Someone asks for your business card. Reach into your shirt pocket and remove a stack of business cards held together with a rubber band. Remove one of the business cards and turn the face down. Hand the spectator a marker or pen. Ask them to draw a picture or write a name on the back of the card. The entire time, your back is turned. Ask the spectator to turn the card drawing side down. Turn to face spectator. This business card is slid into the middle of the business card stack (drawing side down). Another business card removed from the stack. You ask the person to concentrate on their drawing. Pick up the pen and immediately duplicate their drawing! Hand this card out to the spectator. They’ll never forget you!
5. Ultra Match
– A prediction envelope is placed on the table in full view. Envelope has been sealed with a large paper clip. You explain that the envelope contains three playing cards. You now introduce a deck of cards. Cards are thoroughly mixed by spectator. Three cards are FREELY SELECTED (no force). Prediction envelope is opened; the spectator removes the three cards from the envelope. They match the three freely selected cards!
6. Kissed
– Effect: A card is selected from a blue backed deck. Card is noted by spectator and placed face down in the middle of the face down deck. Spectator, preferably a woman will find the card. Magi has the spectator to blow a kiss at the deck. The deck is ribbon spread face down. One card shows a red back. Magi states that one card is blushing. This red backed card is turned face up and revealing it to be the chosen card. It has a BIG set of LIP PRINTS on its face! This card can be given as a souvenir.
7. Simone’s Secret Weapon
– Effect: A deck is shown and then split into 2 packets. The two face-down packets are placed on the table. The spectator selects any packet – NO FORCE! Spectator is asked to shuffle their packet. Performer shuffles other packet. Spectator spreads cards in front of him and selects any card. Performer’s back is turned while this happens. Selected card from spectator’s packet is placed face down in the performer’s packet. Performer’s packet is shuffled by spectator. Performer now turns back around and picks up his packet of cards. Just by looking through the cards, the performer is now able to remove only one card from the pile. It is the spectator’s selected card! Everything may be examined. Can be instantly repeated. No markings, or gaffed cards. No odd/even stacks. Can be done with a borrowed deck.
8. Premonition
– Effect: Spectator deals a random pile of cards on the table and stops at any point – NO FORCE! Top card is turned face-up by spectator. Performer picks up prediction envelope from table and removes one card. Both cards match! Only one card is in envelope.
9. Blind Sighted
– Effect: Cards are ribbon-spread face-up showing no particular order. Deck is turned face-down and cut by magician. Spectator is invited to also cut the cards and look at the card they cut to, then complete the cut. Spectator places face-down deck into card case. Card case is encased with an elastic band. Card case is shown on every side. Performer concentrates for a moment and announces the selected card.
The lecture notes are well written and clear. There are about half of the tricks that also contain photos to accompany the explanations.
