Who is he?
Using his joyful enthusiasm and an impish sense of humor, the multi-talented Gene Anderson skillfully weaves laughter into each performance with an array of eclectic props. A nominee for two Academy Awards by the Academy of Magical Arts, a past board member of the International Brotherhood of Magicians, and one of only six performers honored as a lifetime member of the Magic Circle of Norway — not only has Gene’s magic taken him to twenty-one countries on six continents, but he has emceed at virtually every magic convention in America.
This past April he hosted the Academy of Magical Arts Awards Show in Los Angeles, and on July 12 he emceed the opening show at the combined IBM/SAM Convention in Louisville, KY [Note: five routines he performed on that show are in this lecture.] Gene has also produced, directed, and hosted seven editions of “The Vaudeville Show” at the State Theatre, Bay City, Michigan. He has been on the covers of Genii, The Linking Ring and M-U-Mmagazines. Among his magical writings, his book Newspaper Magic, now in its twelfth printing, is one of the best selling ever.
But Gene is certainly not a one-trick pony, and he shares a multitude of his magical miracles in his latest publication, The Book – acclaimed as “pure Gene-ius”.
