VOL 1 – AUTOMATE – 25 mins
AUTOMATE
The controlled outcome of automatic writing
In Volume 1 of Le Val Classics, Lewis teaches two methods to achieve full control over a participant’s “automatic writing”.
The performer instructs the participant to hold a pen in their non-dominant hand and a small stack of business cards in the other. With the items held behind their back or under the table, the participant begins to move the pen across the top card in a random manner. When it’s time to interpret their abstract scribblings, what’s found is a design of the performer’s own choosing, revealing any information he wishes.
All you need is a standard pen and a small stack of business cards.
What you are learning here is a force. The resulting design on the card will be something secretly predetermined by the performer, creating a beautiful reveal that feels as though it emerged from the participant’s subconscious movement.
Did we mention that the participant signs the back of the card too? Depending on the method you choose, they sign the back of the card either before or after their automatic writing, ensuring the participant is completely convinced that everything is as it appears.
VOL 2 – THE OTT MOVE – 16 mins
“The false switch that set the world on fire.”
OTT is Lewis Le Val’s “pseudo switch”, allowing you to create the perfect illusion of exchanging one piece of folded card for another. It is the ultimate answer to fixing the discrepancy caused by the “one ahead” principle.
From gasps in crowded lecture halls to endless praise from professional performers, OTT has become a staple in the repertoires of thousands of mentalists worldwide, spanning television and stage performances to intimate close-up settings.
The question is, have YOU harnessed the power of OTT?
In this sixteen minute video download, Le Val teaches the OTT move itself, and shares examples of how you might use it in performance.
VOL 3 – SHROUD – 21 mins
In Volume Three of Le Val Classics, you’ll discover two powerful and innovative mentalism techniques. These methods are perfect for tarot readers who incorporate mentalism methodology into their practice, as well as contemporary mystery performers looking to elevate their acts.
A peek and a force made possible by a single, unassuming item.
POCKET PSYCHIC
An ungimmicked bandana, handkerchief, napkin or tarot cloth transforms into the perfect peek device. A participant writes their wishes on your business card, which is then placed face down in your palm. The card is covered with the handkerchief, wrapped, and set aside. This simple process allows you to obtain a flawless, foolproof peek at what’s been written.
BLACK FLAG
A shuffled deck of playing or tarot cards is placed on the table and covered with a handkerchief. The performer steps away, instructing a participant to lift half the deck, peek at the card they cut to, and lower the cards back onto the table, ensuring the deck remains covered. Despite the performer being nowhere near and no cards being visible throughout the process, the card selected was a force; the performer had complete control over which card was chosen. Two methods are taught.
From a small handkerchief in your suit pocket to a mystical cloth for ritual work, these methods transform ordinary fabric into a devious utility device.
